MARY JANE TEALL THEATRE AWARDS

 

Wayne Bryan, Bob Curtright Honored by the Mary Jane Teall Awards Committee


The Mary Jane Teall Awards presented it’s annual awards celebration Monday September 24, 2012 for the 2011-2012 theatre season at Mosley Street Melodrama.


Wayne Bryan was inducted into the Mary Jane Teall Hall of Fame for his 25-year anniversary at Music Theatre of Wichita; Ed & Danette Baker received the Educator of the Year Award (both are professors at Wichita State University); Gene Stucky received the Volunteer of the Year Award for his work at Center Theatre at the Wichita Center for the Arts; Special Merit awards were presented to Nick Barton (for his video work for THE MERCHANT OF VENICE at Center Theatre), Mark Peters (pianist, BILLW AND DR. BOB at Center Theatre), Dr. Grant & Janet Rine (for their support of Wichita theatre), and Bob Curtright (for his dedication to promotion of the performing arts); and Bruce Winant was awarded the Guest Artist award for his performance as Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at Music Theatre of Wichita.


The mission of the Mary Jane Teall Awards is to create a theatre organization that shall honor the memory of one of Wichita’s pioneer theatre artists, Mary Jane Teall.  The goal of the awards is to promote a mutual respect and camaraderie among the theatrical community and to recognize individuals and theatre groups.  The spirit of Mary Jane Teall’s desire for excellence and love of the art shall be the guiding force for the awards.

2012 MARY JANE TEALL AWARD NOMINATIONS

 

The Mary Jane Teall Awards Organization is pleased to announce nominees for 2011-2012 season.

The mission of the Mary Jane Teall Awards is to create a theatre organization that shall honor the memory of one of Wichita’s pioneer theatre artists, Mary Jane Teall. The goal of the awards is to promote a mutual respect and camaraderie among the theatrical community and to recognize individuals and theatre groups. The spirit of Mary Jane Teall’s desire for excellence and love of the art shall be the guiding force for the awards.
